Firstly a belated Happy New Year to All! Hope you had a wonderful festive season and apologies for this late blog. I am excited to announce that I will be holding a solo show at the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre in Blackheath, Govetts Leap Road for all of April 2020. Show opens 2nd April and runs until the end. There will be a wide variety of art for all to enjoy. So all art lovers pop along if you can and also take in the stunning views at Govetts Leap Lookout!
Now where to begin, it has been pretty hectic this end with all sorts of things happening as I am sure it is with most people these days. I finished 2019 off with a happy ending and sold a Couple of Galahs on Boxing Day at The Edge Gallery in Katoomba that was on show with the Blue Mountains Creative Arts Network Summer Exhibition. ☺ Thankful to buyer!
I had my very first request for a commission on Bluethumb to paint Cheeky
Cockatiels (available on Bluethumb) on a larger scale. This was exciting news for me and also a challenge that I took on straight away. Thoroughly enjoyed the process and the interaction was easy for both parties. I organised to deliver the painting myself seeing as we frequented the area where the buyer lived and happy to say she was delighted with it! Was great to receive an email of a photo of it in situ framed and on the wall for all to admire. It was the biggest commission to date and the size was 91cm x 91cm. Here I am below so as you can see the scale of the painting. ☺
I have been trying to find time to paint in between work, our airbnb and visitors from overseas staying with us for a week! Also my husband, John retired at Christmas time and we will be spending more time together and I will keep on track with my art when I can. I have been painting some birds as part of a Fun Bird Series and also felt drawn to paint Koalas after the bushfires in Australia. Below are new paintings available now at Bluethumb. I am delighted to now be part of a selective group of artists selling high quality prints made in Australia at
Blue Horizon Prints! Please go have a browse at all the wonderful variety and formats available. I am proud to be a supporter of an another Australian Company! Visit BLUE HORIZON PRINTS for more information.
There have been a lot of changes on Redbubble, my one and only POD site, with no profiles showing anymore but just the shop. It may be a bit confusing to find my products but if you Click this LINK
you should still be able to find my profile page for now. With lots of changes happening such as closing of groups, it is now just a shop front and we will have to wait and see if sales are still consistent. The start of the year has seen some good sales internationally and nationally so very happy and thankful to those purchasing my products. It is always appreciated!
Best wishes Linda
