Hope this year is treating you kindly and you had a good Easter! It has been a very busy start to ours and finding time in the studio has been difficult. Still I was very happy to have a sale of Sydney Harbour at Bluethumb, one of my bigger sales so I was delighted to send it off to the framers before it went on to Wagga Wagga in NSW to its new owner that I am very thankful to indeed! It sure was a great start to the year!

BLUETHUMB SALES

It has though been somewhat a slow start, besides the sale of Sydney Harbour. With many changes on Bluethumb, as well as the war and fuel crisis, it is hard to keep positive, but we move on and fill our lives with beauty and positivity as much as we can. I am finding time on and off to begin a new Sydney Harbour painting as I do miss the sold one already! Here it is in the studio on my easel.

NEW ART

Seeing as my last fairy wren painting sold, I did squeeze in some studio time at the beginning of the year and I really enjoyed painting another. This cutie is now available at Bluethumb.

I am still in awe of these little birds when they flit in and out of our garden and think this is one of my favourites, it is full of charm and beauty.

STUDIO SALES

Recently we had a lovely couple stay at our airbnb and I sold 2 watercolour paintings. 🙏 They fell in love with my Red Robin and Butterfly Wings and bought both to frame and hang in their home. You can find prints and art products of these two at my redbubble online gallery. They also bought some cards from the studio.

My Redbubble gallery was very busy before Christmas and has since slowed down but still my products are being shipped around the world. Here are some recent sales of a scarf, bag and zipper pouch. A few cards and a blanket just sold and will share soon. I share my sales so that customers can see what is available and also of course to thank my buyers! Remember I am always designing new artworks so check in from time to time and have a browse.

There is no more news at this stage but hope to share my new Sydney Harbour painting when it is all completed.

Happy New Year!

Hope you had an fabulous time seeing in the new year and that this year brings you much joy, happiness and peace. Apologies for late check-in but yes usual saying 'I have been very busy'.

Now to some news. Amazing as it is, I am always surprised and delighted to sell a painting after beginning my art journey in late 2012. So to keep you up to date with what is selling I will start with my Bluethumb online gallery.

BLUETHUMB

Happy to see these paintings plus one print sell late 2025 seems waterfalls were popular along with my Kookaburras, and had my very first sale on Bluethumb for January 2026 called Blue Mountains Sunset. Framed and ready to hang this is part of my Blue Mountains collection. Very thankful to all buyers. Please see below for images, some prints available.

STUDIO HAPPENINGS

We were extremely busy over the festive season with Airbnb guests coming and going. I was delighted when a lovely couple purchased cards and also organized after their visit for the purchase of Fairy Wren Charm. It is a reminder of their stay here at Merinda Skies as they are now engaged, the proposal happened during their stay so very special. Wishing the couple nothing but happiness for their future.

It was lovely to have a visit from my Aunty Wendy and friend from the UK who was taken by quite a few products in my studio and I was happy when they insisted on purchasing some of my art to take back as a reminder of their holiday traveling around Australia. CANVAS PRINTS AUSTRALIA

Canvas Prints Australia is the sister site of Blue Horizon Prints and I had two good sales before Christmas. Please see below. Mystical Trees and Miss Galah is now bringing joy to new homes. Thankful to buyers as always.

EVERGLADES HISTORIC HOUSE AND GARDEN

My commissioned cushions are still selling at Everglades Historic House and Gardens in their shop. Great to sell a Tree cushion before Christmas. Everglades is a must see when in the mountains it is a beautiful historic house set in acres of gardens with views and a delightful tea room for refreshments. Pop along if you can.

Well apologies for not popping in sooner, it has been crazy busy since returning home from the UK. We had a fantastic time and came home with happy memories. Now back to it and so happy to share my sales on Bluethumb with you all. To make it easier they are grouped together. Birds have been on the top of people's list and happy to see these cuties go to new homes in NSW and interstate. 5 of my birds now have beautiful new homes. Very thankful to all the buyers I appreciate every one of you.

Blue Mountains Artfest 2025 at Wentworth Falls was a great success with the sale of Goldie, Quirky Emu. Will be sad to see her smiling face go but elated she will be bringing joy to someone else every day. Will have to paint another similar one when time allows.

Hope you are keeping well and something you love brings joy to each and every day. Life still keeps me active and busy with all sorts of things but I still manage to fit in my art!

My completed Magpie Baby was snatched up quickly at Bluethumb with many thanks to the collector! It is at the framers right now then will fly on to its new home. Very happy also to see a Dragonfly Dance print sell at Bluethumb as they are now offering prints of a selection of sold works.

Felt in the mood to paint an Emu Love couple and their cute faces caught the attention of a happy buyer on Bluethumb that sent me a lovely message to say they make her smile every day.

Quirky Blue Emu - Sparkles was another bird that flew away from my gallery sold on Bluethumb with many thanks!

Very thankful to all the buyers and supporters of my art! You keep my brushes moving.

BIRDWOOD PODIATRY - Springwood. Blue Mtns EXHIBITION

I was approached by a local Blue Mountains business, Springwood Podiatry, that has local artists display their work on their walls for a 3 month rotation period. So how could I say no businesses supporting businesses. I have had artworks on display at Lawson Physio for a few years and now I have 4 artworks hanging at the Birdwood Podiatry Springwood practice, AND they are also still available for sale direct. ☺ Here's Kooky Kookaburras.

BLUE HORIZON PRINTS-CANVAS PRINTS AUSTRALIA

Delighted that these two wall art prints sold at Blue Horizon Prints. It has been a while since my sea themes have caught someone's eye so that was a lovely surprise. I continue to add new options to my portfolio and thankful to Blue Horizon and buyers of my prints.

Redbubble

So Redbubble have decided to delete some products including skirts, dresses, chiffon tops and more. A shame really as my sales have come to a halt! Still we can but hope things pick up. With AI coming in to play there are over 700,000 works on RB so it is becoming harder and harder for all artists to be seen as they once were. I still enjoy designing and still will from time to time and add new work. Have had a few small sales of phone cases and cards so upwards and onwards.

All in all it has been a good start to the year as we still run our Airbnb so busy, and have a 2.5 acre property to look after, plus a large, lovely family, 17 of us that enjoy our get togethers.

Trust the new year has started off better than you imagined. Ours has been full on but I have been able to do a few paintings in between 'life'.

I started off with a Baby Magpie that was featured on Bluethumb and was snatched up within a week.. along with Kooky Kookaburra. Seeing as it was loved so quickly I have just completed a similar Magpie Baby now available at Bluethumb or direct. See below. Thankful to the buyer in Western Australia that bought two of my favourite bird paintings!

COMMISSIONED ART

Completed a commissioned work of art called Swan Lake. The client had an image in his mind and I was so happy to be able to transfer it in paint to canvas. Collected recently, he was delighted with it and said it was even better in person. He was so pleased he is going to be calling on me for another. This is what makes an artist's life more rewarding when your art is appreciated in a big way.

THE EDGE GALLERY, KATOOMBA - ONGOING EXHIBITION

With the Blue Mountains Creative Arts Network now folded it is a very quiet time in the mountains on the creative side. I am honored though that I was invited to continue to display some of my artworks at The Edge Gallery in Katoomba at the Cinema complex along with a few others. Please pop along and support our local movie theatre and view the art whilst there, all for sale.

Redbubble sales have eased up since Christmas but art cards are still leaving the site along with a few other products such as coasters, mugs, prints, cushions and phone cases! Always appreciated. I am always adding more designs and they make great gifts for others or you can treat yourself to a unique creation.

Hope you all had a good one and I hope this one is filled with joy and peace. We lost a dear close friend just before Christmas so a sad time for us but we take comfort in our memories and the joy he brought to our lives over the 35 years.

I cannot believe it is 2025 time just keeps ticking away. I am hoping to slow down a little this year but of course I said that last year!

BLUETHUMB

Well now to some news. Happy to have sold my first 2025 painting on Bluethumb with many thanks, Quirky Emu Family Portrait sold on 3.1.25. So starting off the new year with one of my favorites going to the framers then off to a lovely new home in Western Australia.

Also delighted to have completed a commission called Budgie Beauty in December that went to repeat collector in WA and sold my Love Grows watercolor.

So happy and thankful that my art is bringing joy to others.

It was definitely a challenge painting it and it kept me on my toes but it was created for that special horse lover that will fall in love with it one day. This rather sexy horse as it has already been called, is painted on canvas and ready to hang. Also see Art for Sale tab. ☺

Redbubble has been amazing over the Christmas holidays and many many products flew out the door to different countries when the rush started in November. Thankful and grateful to all my buyers. ART SHOW

The Edge Gallery Katoomba has 3 of my works on show at the moment but will be changing very soon. GBMCAN has finished so it is very sad after being a member for so many years (since 2008) it seems the new committee could not keep it going. However the Edge Gallery is still showing some of the x member's works including mine. So if in the area pop in and have a peek.

Don't forget my commissioned Art Deco cushions are on sale at Everglades Gardens. Pop in if in Leura and take a stroll around the stunning gardens and enjoy a cuppa and more in the tea house.

I will be beginning a commission soon so looking forward to the challenge.

Well apologies for not popping in sooner! Life has been extremely busy. All good though and hope this blog post finds you well.
Lots has happened since I last posted so here is just a little recap of some happenings for you. As you can see a couple of sales were made in August including a commissioned work of art through Bluethumb. My Kookaburras are a hit and happy they are making people smile. White Cockatoo is a new work of art loaded to Bluethumb and ready for sale along with others, check out the for sale tab. The Path Gift of Autumn sold at Bluethumb, plus Blue Elegance and it was lovely to receive a review! Not forgetting my Magpie Garden that has flown to a new home too. Thankful for all my followers and collectors.

Had the pleasure of completing a commission recently of a Charming Kookaburra and will share when the collector has received and paid! After all Bluethumb give a 7 day return policy so the buyer is 100% happy.

So all in all has been a very busy time. I am currently thinking of my next painting. It will probably be a smaller one due to the time factor, and fitting in art between life in general is becoming harder. Still I will create and paint whenever I can.
