Hope you are all well. I have been busy preparing for the arts trail this weekend. 16th - 17th June my doors will open along with 10 other studios in the upper Blue Mountains and there will be lots of talent on display. They predict cold weather and possibly snow so hoping it does not stop visitors coming along to view such a diverse range of works. My gallery and studio below is just about ready!
Although some of these paintings are sold there is still plenty available to view along with bags, scarves, cushions and more and also a new painting or two.! Will check back in with photos and an update on how it all goes when the weekend is done and dusted. For more information on other studios that are open see www.bman.org.au Until then stay well and take care.
Trust you are all well and thank you for taking the time to visit and read my blog.
Firstly I have decided to upload some of my originals to Bluethumb, an online selling site for originals. You will find some of my original works at reasonable prices, time to let go and make room for more. So if interested pop along and have a look at my profile on Bluethumb .
Life continues to be busier and busier and I am finding less time to paint and cannot see me back on track with my painting until June. The merry month of May will see us busy with travelling, a family wedding and also my big birthday, won't tell you which one lol. However I have finished a commission work of art that I enjoyed painting for a happily married couple. 'True Love' is something most of us seek in our lives and some are lucky enough to find it. For those still looking I wish your search will end soon.
I have also found some time to begin a new painting of Rainbow Lorikeets and here is just a small WIP's image of one of these beautiful birds. To keep up to date follow my instagram feed..link on bio page.
Our Airbnb Merindaskies continues to become busier and busier with guests arriving from all over the world. We have had over 30 couples since January stay with us. It is a wonderful experience and we have met people from the UK, USA, China, Lithuania, and France apart from Australia. Have had a few art lovers stay and sold products below - scarf, postcards, bags, cards and books - what a bonus! Very thankful to my guests who also became buyers. We will be blocking out dates in May for our Airbnb for 3 weeks as family will be staying but will be back on track in June!
My Redbubble online gallery has been going well with sales of products to all corners of the world here are just a selection of a few recent sales and it seems iphone cases were the flavour of the month. Very appreciative of all who purchase my works and support me on my journey.
So thanks again for popping in please leave a comment if you wish and visit from time to time to see what I am up to. Don't forget my studio and gallery will be opening with the Blue Mountains Arts Trail in June on 16th and 17th 10-4pm look for the Black and White signs along the Great Western Highway and hope to see some art lovers pop in to say hi. Until next time stay well and take care
best wishes Linda
Wow! where is this year going to. Apologies for not checking in sooner but since opening up our Blue Mountains Airbnb called Merinda Skies, life has become extremely busy with meeting people from all over the world including France, UK, Lithuania and China as well as guests that live within Australia. Some are also art lovers and, apart from Redbubble sales (to be shared in next blog), I have had an added bonus of purchases from the studio as shown below.
Easter passed very quickly and I hope you all had a safe and wonderful time with loved ones. With bunnies on my mind 'Bunny Cuteness' was created and is now available at my online gallery on many items. One for the kiddies and the biggies who love bunnies! Please click on image for more information!
Lots of fun for me recently designing new art nouveau style patterns that make elegant and beautiful additions to your home. After being inspired by sales of an earlier design from a buyer in the UK it was time to design some more. Please click on image of 'Butterflies and Flowers' for more info that will take you directly to the products. ☺This design was hand drawn and coloured in Photoshop and is available in 3 colours. If you should want a different variation in colour please message me.
Below is another new original watercolour 'Autumn Blues - Leaves' and seeing as it is Autumn in Australia it was time to inject some warmth in to the days with a new bright orange design 'Autumn Leaves', as the cool mornings and evenings being to arrive. Please click on images for more information and to view.
New works can be viewed HERE also. So until next time please check in from time to time to see what I have been up to or follow my instagram page lindacallaghanartist (link on profile page) to see daily posts. Stay safe and well all. Don't forget my studio will be open in June on 16-17th from 10-4pm with the Upper Blue Mountains Arts Trail - BMAN.
Best wishes and thank you for supporting my art!
I am a bit late in beginning my blog post for 2018 as it has been a busy but wonderful time socialising with family and friends over the holiday season. I hope you all had a very safe and happy time over the new year and life is beginning to settle down. I would like to wish you a year full of love, light and peace.
Where to begin, firstly over the busy season I saw a lot of products from my online gallery go to far corners of the world, including, Canada, Germany, UK, America and more! A selection of sales are shown below and I would like to thank those that purchase and support my work it makes my heart sing whenever I receive a sale, large or small.
A little family news: we managed to fly to Melbourne in January to visit our travelling family The Blonde Nomads, who have finished their lap of Tasmania in their Jayco caravan and are now in South Australia. It was so good to see them all and celebrate our granddaughter's birthday who turned 5 in January and spoil her with some gifts, as well as our grandson who really loved his 'mubcrab' (as he calls them) t shirt from 'Nana'. Here he is looking very smart and cute in my 'Blue Crab' t shirt design. It was a very eventful trip going over, as after missing our flight booking in time by a few mins, we were relieved to be put on the next flight 20 mins later but not without a $300 charge! lol. Such is life!
I have just completed a commission for a return customer but will not be able to share it with you until after Easter when the client has received it. I truly hope they love it and will keep you posted! I have managed to do some small A4 watercolours in between everything else as you can see below. These are not framed at the moment and originals are available for sale. Please message me or click on image and purchase prints on line.
New works digitally enhanced in colour and vibrancy are available at my online shop. Here are two examples below showing one on a selection of products. Please note: if you purchase more than one of any product there is a 15% discount ..a great buy! One of my favourites is 'Flower Songs' based on my sold original, Dancing Poppies.
Seeing as Valentines is just around the corner I want to wish all the romantics a 'love' filled day with whoever or whatever you find special. Here are just a few of my 'Love heart' designs to light up your day. I am feeling very lucky as just returned from a surprise weekend away with my dear husband who has always been an romantic at heart. ♥
That's all for now, oh I nearly forgot we have decided to open an Airbnb with a room/kitchenette to let and have been delighted to receive 6 lots of guests so far from Sydney, Holland and the UK. We really are enjoying the interaction with some lovely people and sharing our beautiful location.
I will pop back in March to let you know the latest news so until then, stay well and keep safe!
It is nearly time for the year to end and a new one to begin and I truly hope it has been a good one for you all. Before it closes I would like to share some exciting news! My Lindart Studio was recently used for the end of a short film by the talented Writer and Director, Benjamin Mair. The film is 7 minutes long and is called 'Old Hand', a great story with a twist. It will be edited and released just in time for Tropfest and I am looking forward to receiving my copy!
I would also like to thank those that have recently purchased from my online gallery. After being featured on the home page of Redbubble, which was a great surprise, sales jumped up significantly, especially with my image of 'I Can See A Rainbow'. Many products - such as throw pillows, tote bags, posters, books and more were purchased so thank you once again to my buyers your support is invaluable. Below is a selection of some recent sales.
After 2 recent sales at GalleryOne88 I now have 2 of my Blue Mountains paintings on consignment at this amazing gallery in the heart of Katoomba. 'JellyBean Pool' and 'Nature's Window, Everglades'. This gallery is well worth a visit with 3 floors of artworks and is open this Christmas week. You can enjoy a free coffee Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night whilst you browse the works!
So as I prepare our home for family and friends to visit I would like to wish you all 'A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year' full of everything you love. Stay well and take care and see you on the flip side. (Don't forget you can follow me on Instagram at lindacallaghanartist with posts daily on my art)
Great news for me! Delighted that my two entries SOLD at Gallery One88 Fine Arts last week. One of the finest art galleries in Katoomba it is run by Victor and Sharon Peralta. It has 3 floors of amazing artworks by local artists and more spaces to come. If anyone is visiting the Blue Mountains it is a must see gallery!
There are a number of art shows coming up in the Blue Mountains for the rest of the year and it is just a case of deciding what to enter. It is always hit or miss with an artist's creation depending on who connects with the work. One of my very first watercolours ' BOOTS' was one that sold many years after it was painted. On a studio open weekend a customer fell in love with it straight away!
